    Avoid charges and take advantage of free services through A+ Checking. When members maintain a $10,000+ relationship, they receive monthly dividends (average daily balance of $1000+), overdraft protection, and a free box of standard checks with each order.

  • Members 65 years or better receive checks for free and no service charges!
  • No charge for transactions conducted at ATMs owned by Ascentra Credit Union
  • 5 FREE ATM transactions/inquiries per month at ATMs not owned by the credit union. If you exceed 5 ATM transactions/inquiries per month at ATMs not owned by the credit union, the charge is $1.00 each.
  • No surcharge fees (charged by the owner of the ATM) at Privileged Status Network ATMs.

Your Ascentra Visa® Debit Card works like an ATM Card and can also be accepted like a credit card anywhere Visa is accepted with your money coming out of your checking account. 

  • No Annual Fee
  • Mobile Wallet Compatible
  • No charge for transactions conducted at ATMs owned by Ascentra Credit Union
  • 5 FREE ATM transactions/inquiries per month at ATMs not owned by the credit union. If you exceed 5 ATM transactions/inquiries per month at ATMS not owned by the credit union, the charge is $1.00 each
  • As an added layer of security, our cards come with a heightened level of fraud monitoring services, alerting you via a phone call and text if potential fraud is suspected, allowing you to confirm your purchase or stop fraud before it happens.

Overdraft Protection

We want to make sure you’re covered in case you lose track of how much you’ve spent*. Members who have A+ Checking or Economy Checking can choose to**:

  • Advance a line of credit for no extra charge in $100 increments (for members who qualify).
  • Pull from your savings account in $100 increments for a $5.00 transfer fee.


*Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing or you have too many overdrafts.

**A fee may be imposed for covering overdrafts created by check, in-person withdrawal, ATM withdrawal or other electronic means.

    When you open a checking account at Ascentra Credit Union you’re automatically covered with Courtesy Pay.

    For each transaction below your balance, there is a $29.50 Courtesy Pay transaction fee, which can save you from an embarrassing moment, or better yet, returned check and merchant fees!

    You will also avoid Non-Sufficient-Funds (NSF) fees.
