Ascentra Credit Union Breaks Ground on New Branch in the West End of Rock Island

Ascentra broke ground on a new branch located at 600 11th Street in Rock Island, Illinois, on Thursday, May 21.
The $2.7 million investment represents our continued commitment to serving members across the Quad Cities region and surrounding areas and is a meaningful contribution to the ongoing revitalization efforts of Rock Island’s West End.
The new 3,000 square-foot building will bring a full-service financial center to one of the region’s most transformational communities. As a not-for-profit, we are dedicated to reinvesting in the neighborhoods we serve, and this new branch reflects that mission. The project is part of a broader effort to bring accessible services to an underserved community and create lasting economic momentum for Rock Island.
“At Ascentra, we believe trusted financial opportunity should be available to everyone. This branch reflects our commitment of people helping people by expanding financial services in the West End and making it accessible for all,” said Linda Andry, President and CEO of Ascentra Credit Union. “We are looking forward to being part of the neighborhood.”
The branch will offer members convenient access to a full range of financial services, including retail banking, financial coaching services, mortgage lending, and member business services, as well as access to Ascentra Retirement & Investment Services and First Community Trust, N.A. The new Rock Island location underscores our belief that strong communities are built through local investment and accessible financial resources.
“Our relationship with Ascentra goes well beyond construction. We were honored to serve as a strategic partner throughout the entire site selection process, working closely with Ascentra leadership and the City of Rock Island to make this location a reality. We look forward to delivering a branch that reflects the quality and community investment that both organizations stand for,” said Caitlin Russell, President of Russell.
The project will be done in accordance with an IMPACT agreement to ensure timely and quality construction that benefits all partners involved. It is anticipated that between 75-85 construction workers will be involved in the project.
