When you utilize Ascentra Credit Union's Online Account Access or access our website, we and our business partners who help us deliver these services will have access to your personal information. We do not sell any such information to any third party. We will maintain any information provided, as well as your business transactions, according to our usual security and confidentiality standards.

As part of our ongoing efforts to employ the latest in Internet security technology, we have incorporated Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) into Online Account Access. MFA is a series of technology tools for Online Account Access that helps protect your account from fraudulent transactions. Additional authentication factors, combined with your account number and password, provide additional layers of security. Most of these security enhancements are happening automatically and will not require any action on your part.


MFA security includes a variety of monitoring activities. For example, one feature tracks the type of computer you typically use to access your account. If you sign on to Online Account Access from the same computer on a regular basis and then log on to a different computer, you'll notice some additional security measures. We may ask you some questions to verify your identity before allowing you to sign on. With these extra layers of security in place, your account information will have added protection.


Setting up your account for MFA is easy! Online Account Access users will be asked to create an image & text phrase. After you have created your image & phrase, it will be displayed each time you sign on to Online Account Access, immediately after entering your account number. Simply verify that the image & phrase is correct before entering your password. Because the message is unique to each account, it helps ensure you are signing on to a legitimate Ascentra Credit Union website. A hacker would never be able to guess the image you selected (out of millions of images) or the text phrase you associated to the image. As long as you make sure that you see your image & phrase you can be confident you are at the genuine Ascentra Credit Union Online Account Access site!

In addition, we use state-of-the-art software and other technologies to prevent unauthorized users from accessing our systems, especially those accessible from the Internet. This encryption system from RSA Data Security, Inc. "scrambles" data packets sent from your computer to our server. This keeps personal information secure and confidential while in transit.

    Once you have entered your account number and password, both are securely sent via SSL to a server on Ascentra Credit Union's network for authentication. After this information is verified, a secure session is created between the Online Account Access server and your computer. You can make a full range of account transactions safely and easily right from your personal computer.
