Getting Started


Q. What is uChoose Rewards?

uChoose Rewards is a rewards program where you earn points for shopping or using your Ascentra Visa debit or credit card, then redeem your points for anything of your choice from a huge online rewards catalog.


Q. How much does it cost to participate?

There is no cost. Membership in uChoose Rewards is absolutely free for Ascentra Credit Union cardholders, so start shopping and earning today.


Q. How do I register for uChoose Rewards?

To begin earning points, you must first register your Visa debit or Visa credit card at uchooserewards.com and follow the easy steps. Once you register one card you can link other cards to your uChoose Rewards account and pool your points.


Q. Does it matter if I register for rewards as a joint owner on our Ascentra account?

Any Ascentra account owner is eligible to register for a uChoose Rewards account. 



Earning Points


Q. Where can I earn points?

You earn points most everywhere your card is accepted. The only non-qualifying purchases will be ones made online with your Visa debit card, unless paying online through Visa Checkout, through Apple Pay online and in apps, or through the uChoose Rewards site. 


Q. How do I earn points?

Simply use your Visa debit and credit card anywhere and earn points on purchases. The only non-qualifying purchases will be ones made online with your Visa debit card, unless paying online through Visa Checkout, through the uChoose Rewards site or within sites and apps using Apple Pay.

1 point = $2 spent (signature-based transactions)

1 point = $4 spent (PIN based transactions)


Earn even MORE points when you use your Visa debit and credit card at the participating retailers listed on the uChoose Rewards website.


Q. Do my purchases made with Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or Android Pay still count towards my reward points?

Yes! Purchases made with Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or Android Pay will still be included in your rewards. Some of these digital wallet services are not available at this time.


Redeem and Manage Points


Q. Where can I view my point activity?

You can access the history of your point activity on the uChoose Rewards site under the Point Details page.


Q. When can I redeem my points?

It can take up to 30 days for your points to be credited to your account. You must accumulate 1 point before you can redeem your points. After that, you can redeem for any number of amazing items. Simply look for your “Total Points Available for Redemption” on the Point Details page on the uChoose Rewards site to see how many points you have available for redemption.


Q. What can I redeem my points for?

It’s your choice! You can choose from millions of options, whether you prefer products, travel experiences, activities, event tickets, cash back, gift cards, or more! Simply visit the Redeem Points page on the uChoose Rewards site and click on the category that suits your interests.

The site keeps track of all the points you earn and will help you find just what you’re looking for when you’re ready to redeem. You can even create a Wish List that will help you track when you’ve earned enough to redeem a specific item.


Q. How do I receive cash back?

Cash back can be in the form of a statement credit on your Visa credit card statement or an automatic deposit into your checking account, depending on which card you register first. 

If you first register and create your uChoose Rewards account using your Ascentra Visa debit card, then cash back will be in the form of an automatic deposit to your checking account.

If you first register and create an account with your Visa credit card, then your cash back will be given in the form of a credit on your Visa credit card statement. This will stay the same even if you add a debit card to your uChoose account later.


Q. Is there a minimum cash back amount I can redeem?

There is no minimum amount for redeeming cash back to your checking account or if you register your credit card to uChoose Rewards first, cash back is given in the form of a credit on your Visa credit card statement.


Q. If I return an item purchased with my debit or credit card, will my points get deducted as well?

If you return or cancel an item, points are also reversed from that sale.


Q. If you return a purchase after your points are vested and you use them all for cash back-do your points go into a negative status?

No. If you return a purchase, the points are deducted from your account. If this situation causes your points balance to become negative, future card use pays off the negative points balance.


Q. What if I shopped at a participating retailer, but my points aren’t showing up?

It can take up to 30 days for transactions to appear on the Point Details page on the uChoose Rewards site. If points from a qualified transaction do not appear after 30 days, contact a uChoose Rewards Specialist at service@uchooserewards.com. You can also contact Ascentra Credit Union at 1-800-426-5241 extension 277 or email to info@ascentra.org.



Linking Cards, Sharing Points and More


Q. How do I add another card to my uChoose Rewards account?

To link another card to your account, login to the uChoose Rewards site, go to the Preferences page then scroll down to the bottom section called “Link Another Account to Your Program” then click on the “Learn How” link. 

You will then be prompted to enter the card number of the other account you would like to link. Please note that once accounts are linked, that action cannot be undone. Be certain you want to link your accounts.

Q. Can I share points with family members?

Yes, all cards within the same account automatically earn points together. In addition, if you or a family member have multiple accounts with Ascentra Credit Union, you can link them together to earn points faster. 


Q. If my card is lost or stolen and I receive a new card, do I have to register the new card?

Yes, if your card number is new, instead of logging into your uChoose account, you will need to register your new card number like a new user.

Once you register your new card number, the system will automatically recognize that it is associated to your uChoose account and you will still have access to your points earned. 


Q. I got a new card with a new expiration date and/or security code on the back, do I need to re-register for uChoose Rewards?

No, you will only re-register your new card if you get a new card number. 



Program Rules and More


Q. Will my points expire?

Points will expire 3 years from the end of the month in which they were posted.


Q. Is there a maximum amount of points I can earn?

A maximum of 200,000 points per year can be earned.


Q. Does your password for uChooserewards.com expire if not logged into for a period of time?

No. Additionally, cardholder can click Forgot Password link if forgotten.


Q. Does your password for uChooserewards.com have to be changed after a specific period of time?

No.


Q. Are business accounts eligible for the uChoose Rewards program?

Yes! Business accounts that have an Ascentra Visa debit or credit card are eligible.


Q. Can I access the uChoose Rewards site on my tablet or mobile device?

Yes! You can use your mobile device or tablet browser for accessing your account. The following are supported web browsers for the uChoose Rewards site:
