Frequently Asked Questions
A: Atira is a prepaid card that is loaded with a pre-determined dollar value. The value of your Atira card is provided on the insert that was attached to your card.
A: No, it is a prepaid Visa card that has a pre-set spending amount.
A: Most gift cards can only be used at a particular store. The Atira card can be used almost any place you see the Visa logo.
A: Use your Atira card almost anyplace Visa is accepted - at stores or online. You can purchase anything you want up to the value on the card.
A: Go to the My Account link on this website to register your card. It's easy to do - and very important. When you do, it means we will have your information available to process transactions. And, if your card is lost or stolen, it will be easier to replace if you have registered it.
A: You can check your balance online at the My Account link or by calling (800) 721-3978. Have your 16-digit account number ready.
A: Contact the credit union that issued your card. This information appears as the credit union's logo in the upper left portion of the card. If you are uncertain, contact the person who gave you the card to find out where they purchased it. Or, call (800) 721-3978. If you have registered your card, a replacement card can be sent to you.
A: If your purchase totals more than the value of the card, have the cashier use the funds on your Atira card first. Then pay the difference with cash, check, credit card or debit card.
A: We encourage you to use the entire amount before the card expires. See the Cardholder Agreement accompanying the card for re-issuance of the remaining balance.
A: Depending on the merchant's policy, you may be able to return the item and have the value of that item put on the Atira card (if you have not used the entire dollar value). Or, the merchant may suggest giving you a store credit.
A: Cut the card in half and throw the card away.
A: Ask your credit union if they offer the Atira card.
A: If you use the full balance of your card within twelve months after it is issued, there are no fees. A monthly service fee of $2.50 per month is automatically deducted from your Atira Gift Card balance following the 12 month inactive period.
