Senior Account Officer Luz Morales
I just wanted to recognize Luz for all her hard work and excellent service she provides our members. Alvaro was at a Financial Seminar at Casa Guanajuato last Friday and several members approached him to let him know how much they appreciate the fact that Luz tells them how to get the most for their money when sending money via VIGO. They said she is attentive, knowledgeable and takes care of them promptly. Thank you Luz for listening, caring, and doing what’s right!

Account Officer Anabel Peinado
One day after the introduction of Greenpath at the All Staff meeting, Michail came in and met with Anabel about debt relief. She knows this member and has helped him in the past. He has a significant amount in Credit Card debt. Anabel said he felt embarrassed and was afraid they were going to tell him “just file Bankruptcy, as other people had suggested. Anabel referred him to Greenpath and a week later, they were able to put him on a plan to pay off ALL of is debt!!! Michail is so happy with the monthly payment as he can actually see relief at the end of the tunnel. He said the people at Greenpath were very professional and treated him with respect and dignity. They showed him charts, plans, calculations, and great counseling. He was very grateful Anabel had made the referral to Greenpath. Another way she listened, cared and did what was right. Way to go Anabel!

Mortgage Loan Officer Shawn Wright
Sue received a letter recognizing Shawn Wright for her excellent service.
The letter stated: I’m not sure who this letter should go to, but I’m hoping it makes it to Shawn Wright’s boss. Over the last few years, my family has interacted several times with Shawn. “Listening, caring, doing what’s right,” these are not just words on her business card, it is the way that she conducts her business. Refinancing our home, helping my nephew buy a home, discussing Dave Ramsey’s thoughts about money to my daughter and her husband, dealing with my intense husband when problems arise during online banking, and helping my son buy a home, name but a few of the ways that Shawn has applied listening, caring, doing what’s right to our financial situations. Money can be such a touchy topic, and I was nervous when we entered her office to refinance our home. One of the first things out of her mouth was a big thank you to us for being people who pay our bills on time; she said it makes her job so much easier. I instantly relaxed as she explained our options in easy to understand terms and finished with what she would do if she was “walking in our shoes.” I left believing that she cares about what we do to our money. I can say it is the first time I have her felt that way when dealing with a financial institution.
My nephew was having difficulty getting fair terms when purchasing his first home, it was easy to advise him to go and see Shawn and let her crunch the numbers. He came away from the experience a happy first time home owner. Four years ago, my daughter and her husband listened to Dave Ramsey’s tapes and Shawn encouraged them to stay the course. My daughter recently announced that they are now debt free; it would be hard to say who was more ecstatic, Shawn or my daughter! Technology has changed a bunch over the years, and sometimes things with computers do not go the way they are supposed to, such as been the case with our checking acct, Shawn has always listened and then done the right thing.
My husband was quite intense when two months in a row, the electric company withdrew an extra $500, more intense when the new debit cards worked sporadically, or didn’t work at all, and lastly when he was “locked out” of our account online. She handled every situation. It has amazed me that she personally took care of these issues, as I am sure these types of problems are not part of her “job description.”
Her latest endeavor has been to help my son buy a home. To say he is difficult to coach is to state it mildly; again, she listened, cared and did what was right. He commutes to Davenport, works full time and goes to school full time, and yet somehow, she got him to finish the first-time home owner’s class. She convinced him that it was in his best interest to give up time on his Saturdays. He closed on February 10th and moves into his new home later in March, after all of the home improvements are complete…one of the benefits of those Saturday classes. Conducting business with Shawn Wright does, by listening, by caring, and by doing what’s right is a rare thing in today’s world. Interacting with her over a variety of financial situations has been a pleasure, but watching her help young adults reach their dreams and experience better financial soundness has been priceless. Thank you, Ascentra and Thank you, Shawn Wright.

Lillian has been a regular in the Bettendorf office for at least the last 15 years. I know many of you have helped her with paying bills and balancing her check book. They [Lillian’s family] wanted to thank us for the many years of service we provided and most importantly the friendship that we built with their mother. The family could not express in words how much we meant to Lillian and how comforted they are, knowing how much we cared for her. (Lillian recently passed away)
