How to Enable JavaScript (required to use Online Account Access)
Method #1: Trusted Sites Zone
Using Trusted Sites Zones in Microsoft Internet Explorer, it is easy to Add legitimate known sites, even when your overall Browser Internet Options are set for disabling JavaScript.
In Microsoft Internet Explorer, pages in the Trusted Sites zone run at the Medium security level (not Medium-High as in the Internet zone) and aren't restricted by the customizations you've applied to the Internet zone.
The following describes how to add https://oaa.online-cu.com to your Trusted Sites Zone. This site is used by credit union members to access their accounts and credit union information online.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 and 8.0.
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
- In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.
- Click on Trusted Sites from the Zone choices.
- Click once on the Default Level button.
- Move the slider up to the Medium level and click Apply.
- Click the Sites button.
- Enter https://oaa.online-cu.com and click Add. Click OK, Apply, then OK again.
Netscape
- Select Site Controls from the Tools/Options menu
- Click Add Site then enter ascentra.org as the Domain and select I Trust this Site. Click Add Site.
- Repeat step 2 only this time enter oaa.online-cu.com as the Domain.
- Highlight the ascentra.org site domain and make sure that Enable JavaScript and Enable Java are checked under Web Features (other items may also be checked…that is OK). Make sure that Internet Explorer is selected under Rendering Engine. Click OK.
- Repeat step 4 for the oaa.online-cu.com domain and any sub domains that appear under these two domains.
Method #2: Browser Internet Options
The following describes how to enable JavaScript in Microsoft Internet Explorer, FireFox and Netscape browsers.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 & 8.0
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
- In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.
- Click Custom level button at bottom right. The Security settings dialog box will pop up.
- Scroll down to the Scripting category and enable Active Scripting, Allow paste options via script and Scripting of Java applets.
- Click OK, Apply, and then OK to save your changes.
Mozilla Firefox 1.0 and 2.0
- Select Options from the Tools menu.
- Click Content.
- Check Enable JavaScript.
- Click OK, then click the Reload button.
Mozilla Firefox 4.0
- Click the FireFox tab in the top left.
- Select Options arrow. A new menu will appear.
- Select Options again.
- Select the Content tab at the top.
- Check Enable JavaScript.
- Click OK, then click the Reload button.
Netscape
- Select Preferences from the edit menu
- Click Advanced.
- Check in both Enable Java and Enable JavaScript.
- Click OK.
Safari
Although the Safari browser for Mac is not officially supported, many credit union members report that it does work for them if it's properly configured.
- Click on the General icon.
- Click on Security.
- Place a checkmark in both Enable Java and Enable JavaScript.
- Under "Accept Cookies" select either Always or Only from sites you navigate to.
