Larry W. Ridenour Larry W. Ridenour, Chairperson

Davenport, Iowa resident Larry Ridenour was initially elected to the credit union Board of Directors in 1991 and again in 1993 serving to present date. Larry joined ALCOA Davenport Works in 1966 retiring after 30 years as CAD CAM Programmer. Larry is the past Chairperson of ALCOA DavPak and the 25 year club. Ridenour received an Associates Degree in numerical control programming, computer aided drafting and CAD CAM Programming. Ridenour has served in the capacity as Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Vice- Chairperson, Chairperson of the credit and audit committees, ALCO committee, and has served as the Chief Financial Officer. Larry has also served on the Executive, Building, Staff Personnel Policies, Board Policy, Nominating, Strategic Planning, Directors Policy, Disaster Recovery, and Marketing Committees. During Larry's tenure on the credit union Board of Directors he has also completed the financial achievement program.

 

 

Troy SmithTroy Smith, Vice Chairperson

Centerville, Ohio resident Troy Smith was elected to the credit union board of directors in February 1995. In 1989 he joined ALCOA, Inc. as a mechanical engineer. Troy worked in the maintenance, engineering, marketing departments until 2004 when he accepted a corporate position as consultant to all rolling locations worldwide. On January 1, 2008, Troy left Alcoa to become General Manager of Chrome Deposit Corporation; a company specializing in grinding, texturing and chrome plating rolls for the steel and aluminum industry. While this change in jobs caused Troy and his family to relocate to Ohio, the California native still considers the Quad Cities his 'home' along with his wife, Jardelina, 13 year old daughter, Leticia, and 4 year old son, Gabriel. Troy received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the West Virginia Institute of Technology and MBA from St. Ambrose University, Davenport. Troy has served as the Chairperson, Vice Chair, Chief Financial Officer, Credit Committee Chair; and on the Executive, Nominating, Strategic Planning Session, Directors Policy, ALCO, Building, and Staff Personnel Policies Committees at the credit union.

 

 

Dirk Mooy, Treasurer

Bettendorf, Iowa resident Dirk Mooy joined the credit union board of directors in March 2008. Dirk and is family moved to the Quad Cities in 1996, and joined the credit union shortly afterwards. After moving to the Quad Cities he worked as an environmental engineer for Preston Engineering, Inc. In 2000 he joined ALCOA, Inc. as a metallurgical engineer and has worked at Alcoa's Davenport Works and San Antonio Works facilities on process improvement activities and developing new products. Dirk volunteers on activities which promote active science and engineering learning for young people, and most recently participated in the Quad City Engineering and Science Council sponsored First Lego League competition, and the Alcoa sponsored Metallurgy Magic for local junior high school students. Dirk received bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering ('96) and Metallurgical Engineering ('00), along with minors in Economics and Chemistry, from the University of Missouri at Rolla. Dirk has served as the Credit Committee Chair; member of the Audit, Credit, Strategic Planning Session, Disaster Recovery, and Building Committees.

 

 

Elaine Reid

Elaine Reid, Secretary

The Muscatine resident is a retired administrative assistant from BT Prime Mover after 34 years of service. She studied bookkeeping and accounting while attending a community college. Her volunteer activities besides serving on the credit union board of directors include being a board member for the local chapter of the American Red Cross as well as the Quad City American Red Cross Board and past regent of the Catholic Daughters of America, and delivers Meals On Wheels. Elaine received the 2011 Chapter Chair Award for outstanding service to the American Red Cross. As a Master Gardener, she also pursues her gardening hobby. She joined the credit union board in 1999. She has served on the Auditing, Board Policy Updates, Nominating and Disaster Recovery committees. Elaine has also served as Secretary of the Board.

 

 

Gary Schocker

Gary Schocker, Audit Committee Chairperson

Gary Schocker returned to the credit union board in February 2000, after having served a two-year term from 1992-1994. He completed 2 years at Iowa State, studied accounting at Palmer Junior College, and has over 25 years experience in updating and training on Income Tax preparation. Gary has been with ALCOA for over 28 years. His volunteer activities include serving as a soccer official, former Dad's Club member, choir member for his local church, and member of Barbershop Harmony Society (close harmony a-cappella style music). Gary has served on the Auditing, Executive, Building, Credit, Personnel and Board Policy Updates Committees.

 

 

Woody Perkins

Woody Perkins, Audit Committee Secretary

Woody is a Certified Financial Planner. He attended the College for Financial Planning in Denver and Black Hawk College. He has been affiliated with the credit union since 1999 and was elected to the board in 2007. Woody is the CFO at Nehlsen Communications where he has been employed since 2002. He has served as the Treasurer and board member for Boys and Girls Club of the Quad Cities, President and Treasurer of Valley Shelter Homes. He is currently on the Endowment Board at Edwards UCC Church, has served as a mediator for Scott County Small Claims Court, and serves as an arbitrator with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

 

 

Larry KetelsenLarry Ketelsen, Credit Committee Chairperson

Larry Ketelsen is a resident of Clinton and joined Members Choice Community Credit Union board in 1969. He served Vice Chairman, Chairman of the Audit and Credit Committees, and Executive Committee. A graduate of Clinton Community College with an Associate's Degree, Larry is a retired Lab Technician. He worked for Clinton Corn for 21 years and Sethness Products for 25 years. Larry enjoys golf, and volunteering at Zion Lutheran Church, as well as, Habitat for Humanity. He and his wife, Margo, have two sons and one granddaughter.

 

 

Mary Soeder

Mary Soeder, Director, Credit Committee Secretary

Mary is a Bettendorf, Iowa resident and worked at the Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA) for 34 years in Supply Chain Management as a secretary, coordinator, order editor, plate planner, and Customer Service Delivery Specialist. She retired February 2, 2002 and is a current member of the Alcoa 25 year club. A graduate from Assumption High School and the American Institute of Commerce (AIC) in business, Mary has also completed Excel, Access and Word computer classes at Scott Community College. She has served on the following board committees: Credit, Building, Nominating, Strategic Planning Session. Disaster Recovery and IT Technology, and has served as Board Treasurer.

 

 

Dan BirdsleyDaniel G. Birdsley, Director

Dan Birdsley is a lifelong resident of the Clinton and Camanche area. He holds a BS degree in Business Administration from St. Ambrose and joined the Members Choice Community Credit Union Board of Directors in 1998. He has served on the Audit Committee, Credit Committee, Executive Committee, Nominating Committee, Personnel Committee and as well as the Secretary. He is a Lieutenant Deputy Sheriff for Clinton County for almost 29 years and serves as the Investigations Supervisor. He serves on the Board of Directors for Prince of Peace Catholic School in Clinton. He and his wife, LeeAnn, reside in Clinton and have 2 children and 4 grand children. They are both active in their church Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Clinton.

 

 

Laura Curtis, Director

Davenport, IA resident Laura Curtis has been employed with PB Leiner, formerly known as Hormel Foods Corporation, for over 18 years as the Sr. Accounting Associate. Laura received her MBA from the University of Iowa in Iowa City with a Concentration in Strategic Management & Consulting and an emphasis in Marketing. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Ambrose University. She currently serves on the board of directors for St. Ambrose University Alumni and previously served on the board of directors for Animal Aid Humane Society. Laura is originally from Dubuque. She graduated from Andrew Community High School in Andrew, Iowa and made the Quad Cities her home in 1992. Her community involvement activities include volunteering with the Scott County Health Department (Tobacco-Free Campaign) and Quad City Arts Festival of Trees. Laura has been affiliated with the credit union for over 18 years.
